Welcome to the Art of Dogmanship
Est. 1989
‘‘Whether it’s Horses or whatever it is you do , it does not become and Art until your Soul goes into what you do.’’ BB
Come experience the Art of Dogmanship difference . Unlike typical mechanical training where the onus is on the Dog and it’s conditioned responses to commands , A of D ‘s Relationship Based Training ™ , is a full circle philosophy encompassing the education of both parties involved , the Dog and their Humans , where language and communication replace mechanical commands , opening the door to mutual understanding
No tool, no collar, no food or any other invention will create a Relationship. One cannot guarantee the behavior of a Dog when the most important aspect of the Relationship is the education , behavior and language skills of the human . A Dog is only as good as the human on the end of the leash .
This is why at the Art of Dogmanship, WE COME TO YOU, we work privately , one on one , in your home . Accessing the Relationship in home gives great insight to the Dog’s P.O.V. Most behavior issues are a result of a lack of understanding the Dog’s P.O.V. , the Dog is communicating constantly and typically they are ignored because of a lack of knowledge of their language .
Each session is customized for your Dog and you, laying the foundation of structure , communication and a disciplined environment for mutual enjoyment .
A brief bio., Whilst attending J&W University for my degree in Business Psychology I managed the Nesbitt Dermatology Veterinary Clinic . As a lifelong Horseman and Dogman , I started my Behavioral Practice in 1989 , with the Dog’s P.O.V. as my guide , I started the first mobile grooming unit in my region , to save Dogs from being in grooming shops in cages all day , I offered the better deal for the Dog . Several years later I began a private grooming academy . After purchasing my Horse Farm I added , Kennel Free , Private Boarding along with Dog Day Care and Private Board and Train Programs . I have shown and competed nationally in both Dog and Horse shows along with competing in grooming competitions . I have been so fortunate to have been taught and mentored by the best in world , Ray Hunt and Sheila Varian & John Nash to name a few, were my foundation trainers in the early 80’s laying the groundwork for my future Professional Career .
Energy, language, leadership and love. As a behaviorist these are the four corners of the foundation of balance in my practice.
Life lived simply is beautiful and your dog is your best reminder.
